Phase 2A Construction Project

Kaimuki Christian School  broke ground on its newest building, the Clarence T.C. Ching Educational Center, on June 23, 2015.  Thanks to a $1.5 million matching grant from the Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation, in conjunction with the school’s major capital fund raising campaign, the facility is scheduled to open in July, 2016.

The Clarence T.C. Ching Educational Center will be a state-of-the-art structure reflecting Kaimuki Christian School’s commitment to provide high-quality educational opportunities to families.  The Center will include 3 new multi-purpose rooms, 2 additional classrooms, and expanded school administrative offices adjoining the recently completed classroom building along Harding Avenue, on its church and school campus in Kaimuki.

Kaimuki Christian School began in 1968 with classes from preschool through 6th grade.  In 1995 the school added a middle school, and in 2012, launched its first 9th grade class.  “Over the past ten years, KCS has experienced a growth in enrollment from 212 to 320 students.  KCS will have its first graduating high school class in 2016. The new Clarence T.C. Ching Educational Center will be an important component of the church and school’s master plan for the block and we are extremely grateful to be part of the legacy of Clarence T.C. Ching,” said Mark Gallagher, Principal of the school.
