2023 Inspired in Hawaii Award CEREMONY

CONTEST INFORMATION

What you need

The Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation “Act of Kindness”
Inspired in Hawaii 2023 contest encourages students to explore “acts of kindness” to make Hawaii a better place. Practicing simple acts of kindness, ranging from opening a door for a stranger to volunteering or even planting a tree, can inspire, teach, and nurture compassion. We’re giving away over $20,000 in cash awards to winning students and their teachers.

Who can enter?

The contest is open to students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 who are current residents of the State of Hawaii. Students may only enter one division.

What must an entry include?

An entry must identify an act of kindness and illustrate how it can positively influence and inspire our community. For specific division rules, entry forms, prizes, judging criteria, and to view last year’s Inspired in Hawaii winning entries, go to www.clarencetcchingfoundation.org.

When is the contest deadline?

Entries must be received no later than 2 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023. Essays and Videos should be uploaded in the Contest Entry Form. Mail or deliver Poster and Digital Media Poster entries to: Inspired in Hawaii Contest, The Clarence T. C. Ching Foundation, 1001 Bishop Street, Suite 770, Honolulu, HI 96813

How will students know if they won?

Award winners will be contacted and invited to the awards program in February 2024.

What division can I enter?

There are four divisions: Essay, Poster, Digital Media Poster, and Video. Students may enter only one division; entering multiple divisions (either individually or as part of a team in more than one division) will disqualify the student(s) from consideration in all divisions.
